Read the storyAn alumnus of the Harvard University and the German Film Academy in Berlin, Ivan Ivanov had a film directing career. When he decided to come back to Bulgaria, however, he realized he needed to pursue a more steady occupation. With previous experience in tech but no real-world programming skills, Ivan joined Telerik Academy Alpha to bring his personal story to a happy end.
Georgi Georgiev was studying Informatics and Cybersecurity in Saarbrücken, Germany, when he first heard of the then brand new 6-month program for a successful career start in IT - Telerik Academy Alpha. Eager to pursue a career in Bulgaria – it didn’t take long for Georgi to put his academic studies on hold, came back to Bulgaria and apply to Telerik Academy Alpha. Immediately after graduating it, he landed his dream job at Tick42.
Rusi Rusev graduated from Telerik Academy Alpha with JavaScript in May and shortly after that kickstarted his first IT career as Junior Front-End Developer at Gtmhub. His university education and professional experience, however, were in an entirely different field. Rusi has a master’s degree in “Structural Engineering” and worked in the construction industry for a while. When he felt the need for a change, he turned to Telerik Academy to successfully switch careers.
It took Georgi Manchev just 2 weeks to land his dream job in IT after graduating from Telerik Academy Alpha. But he hasn’t always been on the right track to a promising tech career. Prior to joining the program, Georgi worked as a waiter and bartender and had no coding experience at all. During the intensive 6-month training, he was equipped with the knowledge and skills companies look for and joined Experian as a Junior Software Engineer.
Our network of partners continues to grow - joining the ranks are Bede Gaming, a leading supplier of gaming software, Fourth, a leader in cloud-based forecasting and cost control software for the hospitality industry, and Gtmhub, a goal management and employee experience solution provider that earlier this year closed a €1.2M seed round. Also, ICB, a Bulgarian software and consulting company, are continuing their partnership with us and together with Bede Gaming will provide real-world projects to our .NET students.
Steven Tsvetkov, Technical Trainer at Telerik Academy, was included in the prestigious Forbes Bulgaria “30 Under 30” annual list for his substantial contribution to the Telerik Academy mission - to prepare the next generation of digital leaders.

Motivated by the opportunity for better work-life balance, higher salaries, and attractive company culture, people of all ages and backgrounds are making a 180-degree career change to IT. Usually starting from scratch. Although such a career transformation seems risky, the following stories of 3 software engineers prove otherwise. All three of them are graduates of Telerik Academy Alpha.
Alexandra Mechkova, our CEO shares that the courses should not be seen as a substitute but rather as a supplement to university education: "While at university one can go deep into theory, we add practice, work in a real environment, direct connection with employers, development of key personal and communication skills. We are often the transition from formal education to business."

Iskra Lumbeva, developer at OfficeRnD and one of our Alpha graduates: I decided to apply to Telerik Academy Alpha to find out if programming is my career path. I met incredible people there and realized that this is the environment where I want to spend my time, surrounded by intelligent people who want to develop themselves and learn new things every day.
Telerik Academy announced the admissions for the new edition of Alpha C# - the 6-month program anyone can join to start an IT career regardless of their experience and programming knowledge. Admission is open until February 1, 2023, and no previous coding experience is necessary - it is essential for applicants to be motivated and able to commit to learning.
Telerik Academy offers its employees a mental and physical health program. At the end of 2021, the overall program was rated by employees at 4.8 out of 5. Based on their performance, employees also have the opportunity to acquire shares in the company and an annual bonus based on their performance.
