Despite his extensive professional experience, Lyubozar was stuck between the tight deadlines and a swiftly shifting company’s focus towards building new software products. As a leader of a small but dedicated team, he had to upgrade and update on his UX/UI skillset.
Borislav Borisov has obtained a Master’s degree in International Project Management and Financial Management. After graduation, he worked as a Senior Bank Officer and had plenty of opportunities to further advance his career. Yet, Borislav felt that this was not his true calling.
Today we meet Ivan Rachev, who dropped out of university to pursue a career as a programmer. Only half a month after graduating from Telerik Academy, he landed his dream job in IT.
In Bulgaria, where demand for qualified IT specialists is now outstripping the available supply, Telerik promotes itself as the only company in the country that offers free training courses. In 2009, it set up an academy for software engineers. So far 510 have enrolled — though not all stay the course — and the annual intake is rising. This year about 1,000 started the program, of whom Telerik plans to hire about 150.
