We're thrilled Telerik Academy won the grand prize among all categories and competing against 70+ companies across different industries – “Best Company of 2020”. We also took home yet another prize – “Best Company of 2020 in the Education Category”.
2019 was a big year for Telerik Academy. We’ve launched several brand-new programs, moved to an amazing building of our own, grew the team with 33% and greatly expanded Telerik Academy School’s training centers around the country.
In the last decade, we’ve been working hard to fulfill our mission – connecting Bulgarian talent, organizations and training resources to advance personal development, professional careers and grow the IT ecosystem. We’ve pioneered IT career jumpstart programs and launched free private trainings for kids, paving the way for other tech-ed organizations.
In June we launched the first-ever complete UX/UI Design program in Bulgaria. 37 professionals successfully graduated from it, mastering how to design digital experiences that put users front and center.

In the end of 2016, Telerik Academy – one of the leading tech-ed organizations in Bulgaria – was spun off from Progress as an independent organization led by the four founders – Svetozar Georgiev, Boyko Iaramov, Vassil Terziev and Hristo Kosev. In an interview for “Dnevnik” they talk about their plans for the Academy.
The record breaking 14 medals that Bulgaria won at the last International Informatics Competition in Shumen were just one aspect of the good news for Telerik co—founder Boyko Iaramov. He contributed significantly to the ranking of 4th and 5th graders at the leading 8 positions: they all are trainees of the Telerik Kids Academy.
Ivan Parvanov, developer and Telerik Academy alumni: “I graduated from Telerik Academy two months ago. Within the first week I received 3 job offers with the help of the Academy. By the end of the second week, I had already signed a contract. The difference between the Academy and universities in general is that practice is core to all training programs at Telerik Academy.”
Telerik Academy’s new programming course aims to address the great need for talent in the tech sector. This is a 6-month course on Java – one of the most popular programming languages in the world. According Telerik Academy, 97% of their alumni work in the IT industry and 70% jumpstart their careers within just 2 months of graduation.
