  • Who is this for?

    Whether you have zero or little programming knowledge, we will equip you with the skills to succeed. You only need to be 18 years of age or older, and eager to kickstart your career as a QA engineer. If you want to join the IT industry, but becoming a developer is not the path for you – then this program is your perfect choice.

  • What does a QA do?

    QA engineers ensure bug-free software, seamless usability and smooth user experience. No wonder they are such key part of the entire software development process. Working closely with software developers, they make sure all user or client requirements are met and bugs fixed.

  • How can I apply?

    You can take our entry exam using a language of your choice - Java 8, Java 9, Java 10; C++; C#; JavaScript; Kotlin; PHP 7+; Python 2, Python 3; Swift. If you’re brand new to programming, we recommend you learn Java - the programming language used in the QA Alpha cohort. Otherwise, you can use any of the languages listed above.

  • How can I prepare for the exam?

    1. Ace the entrance exam by studying our extensive preparation materials.

    2. Take part in our onsite exam preparation workshops.

    3. Test and polish your skills in Programming Fundamentals with our online practice exams: Mock Exam IMock Exam II.

Guided hands-on preparation at Telerik Academy

To help you master the fundamental concepts of Java (the programming language used in the QA Alpha program) and get ready for Telerik Academy Alpha’s entrance exam, we’re coupling our curated online materials with hands-on, onsite workshops. During the workshops we’ll go through the homework assignments after each video lesson, answer your questions and help you solve any challenges you may face.

Mar 13, 7:00-9:00 pm: Data types and Variables; Conditionals (prep commitment at home 5 hrs/week)

Mar 20, 7:00-9:00 pm: Loops (prep commitment at home 5 hrs/week)

Apr 3, 7:00-9:00 pm: Arrays (prep commitment at home 5 hrs/week)

Apr 10, 7:00-9:00 pm: Preparation for the exam

May 15, 7:00-9:00 pm: Final preparation for the exam

Curriculum

Immersive Program

During the first 2.5 months of the training, you’ll go from absolute beginner to advanced in Java programming. Object-oriented programming, HTML and CSS, JavaScript, and creating high quality code – you’ll master them all. In the next 3.5 months, you’ll learn best QA practices and get hands-on experience with the most popular software testing tools.

Program Details

Prerequisite

Basic programming knowledge (language of your choice) and good English language skills. No previous experience in the IT industry required.

Duration

To get the most out of the program and then jumpstart a rewarding career, you’ll need to focus on your studies for 6 months. To recharge your batteries, you’ll have 4 weeks of vacation.

Schedule

Lectures are held 2 to 3 times a week (Tuesday–Thursday, 7:00-10:00 pm) at Telerik Academy in Sofia. You can maintain a part-time or even a non-demanding full-time job while attending Telerik Academy Alpha QA as long as this doesn’t interfere with your progress.

Commitment

100% onsite participation. Expect an average of 6-9+ hours per week and additional time for self-preparation.

Language of instruction

Courses are conducted in Bulgarian, but all learning materials are in English.
