For 10 years now, we’ve been helping people to jumpstart promising careers in IT and change their lives. We called our alumni to share their stories and how Telerik Academy impacted them.
Today we meet Pavel who shares his experience with the Academy, which helped him find his dream job as a Software Developer and transform his life. Prior to joining the program, Pavel had neither coding education, nor experience in the field.

“Happy 10th anniversary to Telerik Academy! It has been a very important part of my life and I hope you continue helping and inspiring people, who want to change their status quo. The Academy completely changed my life in only two years and a half.”
Before Telerik Academy
“Before joining Telerik Academy, I was an internet service provider employee. I started working there straight after high school and have been doing that for 11 years since.
But it was not getting better – in fact, it was getting worse.
In the beginning of 2016, I realized I needed change. However, I had one problem: without a University degree, the possibilities were quite limited.”
The first step towards a better life
“I stumbled upon an article on social media, introducing an upcoming Telerik Academy program but it was no longer possible to apply. So, I registered online and started preparing myself for the next admission period. After successfully completing the first module, I realized I can join the next modules on-site (back then the program was 12 months long).
After Telerik Academy
“After graduating from the Academy, I started interviewing with various IT companies. It was hard to choose where to kickstart my career.
Then, I remembered the advice we received from Telerik Academy’s co-founder Boyko Iaramov at one of the last seminars: ”Look for a company that gives you opportunities to grow and develop as specialists, don’t choose based only on a company’s size and brand recognition.”
So, I followed his advice. Currently, I work for a company using the latest technologies. I started as a junior developer with no previous experience. Thanks to what I’ve learned at Telerik Academy and lots of reading every day, I’m proud to share that two years later, I’m responsible for developing and maintaining the entire web applications portfolio of the company.
Finally, I’d like to wish you best of luck in all your current and future endeavors. What you do is both meaningful and helpful. Because you give a chance to everyone, who is eager to change his life for the better.”
Borislav Borisov has obtained a Master’s degree in International Project Management and Financial Management. After graduation, he worked as a Senior Bank Officer and had plenty of opportunities to further advance his career. Yet, Borislav felt that this was not his true calling.
