The prestigious selection celebrates the young visionaries and disruptors in Bulgaria. We are proud to share that since the launch of the national selection, Telerik Academy has always had a graduate or a representative featured. In fact, in 2017 we set a record having three of our alumni selected – Anton Sotirov, COO in Tickey, Daniel Georgiev, Founder of Iris, and Doncho Minkov, Technical Trainer and speaker.

This year, after reviewing more than 100 nominations Forbes Bulgaria and an expert jury committee selected the young leaders who bring positive change and disrupt industries. Steven Tsvetkov was nominated in the Education category for his work at Telerik Academy. After starting to code at the age of 17, he successfully graduated from our software engineering program and launched his IT career.
In 2016, Steve joined Telerik Academy’s team, helping students and professionals from different fields join the leading industry in Bulgaria and transform their lives. Since the founding of Telerik Academy in 2009, more than 13,500 people have participated in our onsite trainings and over 51,000 learners have used our online resources.
We continue to be hard at work, helping young people and professionals upskill or re-skill and jumpstart their IT careers.
An alumnus of the Harvard University and the German Film Academy in Berlin, Ivan Ivanov had a film directing career. When he decided to come back to Bulgaria, however, he realized he needed to pursue a more steady occupation. With previous experience in tech but no real-world programming skills, Ivan joined Telerik Academy Alpha to bring his personal story to a happy end.Read the story
Until 5 years ago, Svetla Ivanova’s educational and professional background has been entirely in the finance sector. After deciding to switch careers, she went from a finacne expert to a software developer with the help of Telerik Academy. According to the latest BASSCOM annual study of the Bulgarian software industry, the number of employees in it has increased with 15% compared to last year. This makes for a staggering 3,563 new jobs in the hottest sector in the country. At the same time, just 12,9% of all students are pursuing STEАM degrees.
