More than 2000 students attended Telerik Academy School programs in the 2016-2017 academic year

Students in 1-12 grade from 11 towns mastered key digital and programming skills

During 2016-2017 academic year, over 2000 students in 1-12 grade took part in our free programming and digital skills trainings for students. With total of 36 cohorts in 11 towns across the country, nearly three-quarters of all participants, aged 7-12, made their first steps in the world of technologies.

"Digital skills are essential pre-requisite for successful career. Telerik Academy School does not aim to make a programmer out of each student. We want to give the next generation the necessary knowledge and skills to become valued professionals, regardless of their chosen field, "commented Peter Sharkov, General Manager of Telerik Academy School.

Telerik Academy School 8-12
Nearly 300 students, aged 14-18 years, participated in the monthly training sessions of Telerik Academy School 8-12 grade in Sofia. In addition, 280 students from all over the country joined the sessions online. During the trainings participants learned to develop web and mobile applications with the latest software technologies as well as prepared for participation in NOIT (National Olympiad in Information Technologies). Since the beginning of the initiative in 2010, every second gold medalist from NOIT has been a graduate of School Academy.

Telerik Academy School 4-7
1000 students in 4-6 grade from 11 towns in Bulgaria were trained in programming by Telerik Academy School 4-7 this academic year. The students, divided in 36 cohorts, learned the basics of programming, developed their logical and creative thinking and participated in a number of national competitions. Traditionally, 50% of all informatics contestants, aged 10-12 years, in Bulgaria are students in the School Academy. For the first time this year, the trainings will also continue with summer camps in seven schools in Sofia, Plovdiv and Razgrad.

Telerik Academy School 1-3
80 children, aged 7-9, made their first steps in the world of digital technologies while participating in the programming workshops organized by Telerik Academy School 1-3 grade and CoderDojo Bulgaria. Along with them, another 430 children participated in one-off programming events among which was the first technological awards for children in Bulgaria - Coolest Projects Sofia 1.0. Winners were invited to participate in the international round of the competition, held in Dublin, Ireland on June 17th.
