After starting his practice, he realized, however, this was not his true calling. So, Valentin decided to make a total career change, which brought him to Telerik Academy. Aged 21 and studying at university, Krasimir Etov decided to join Telerik Academy Alpha .NET to attain the coding and soft skills companies demand and land his first job in IT. Until 5 years ago, Svetla Ivanova’s educational and professional background had been entirely in the finance sector. After deciding to switch careers, she went from a finance expert to a software developer with the help of Telerik Academy. Shortly after graduating from our professional program for master junior talent, Svetla joined Bede Gaming and has been part of their software engineering team ever since.
An alumnus of the Harvard University and the German Film Academy in Berlin, Ivan Ivanov had a film directing career. When he decided to come back to Bulgaria, however, he realized he needed to pursue a more steady occupation. With previous experience in tech but no real-world programming skills, Ivan joined Telerik Academy Alpha to bring his personal story to a happy end.

In the end of 2016, Telerik Academy – one of the leading tech-ed organizations in Bulgaria – was spun off from Progress as an independent organization led by the four founders – Svetozar Georgiev, Boyko Iaramov, Vassil Terziev and Hristo Kosev. In an interview for “Dnevnik” they talk about their plans for the Academy.
The record breaking 14 medals that Bulgaria won at the last International Informatics Competition in Shumen were just one aspect of the good news for Telerik co—founder Boyko Iaramov. He contributed significantly to the ranking of 4th and 5th graders at the leading 8 positions: they all are trainees of the Telerik Kids Academy.
Ivan Parvanov, developer and Telerik Academy alumni: “I graduated from Telerik Academy two months ago. Within the first week I received 3 job offers with the help of the Academy. By the end of the second week, I had already signed a contract. The difference between the Academy and universities in general is that practice is core to all training programs at Telerik Academy.”
Telerik Academy’s new programming course aims to address the great need for talent in the tech sector. This is a 6-month course on Java – one of the most popular programming languages in the world. According Telerik Academy, 97% of their alumni work in the IT industry and 70% jumpstart their careers within just 2 months of graduation.
