From Accounting to IT: How Alpha program Transformed My Career

What motivated you to join Alpha?

I was motivated by the desire to change my career. I had been working in accounting for years, but I always wanted to try something new. It all started with a few online courses, just for fun, but I quickly realized how much I enjoyed it. That’s when I decided to move back to Bulgaria and join the Telerik Alpha program, knowing from friends that the preparation and dedication there were truly worthwhile.

What helped you the most in the program?

What helped me the most was a combination of persistence, the trainers, and the community. The trainers often reminded us, “this is not a sprint, but a marathon,” and that mindset kept me going.

The community was incredibly supportive and motivating, and together we celebrated every milestone. The program strengthened my skills and confidence to the point that I successfully completed the course with Java, and soon after, I was able to start working with another programming language on my own. Along the way, I also improved my communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

What changed in your life and career?

Alpha has transformed my life in many ways. I stayed in Bulgaria, successfully switched careers, and now I face an enormous ocean of knowledge with endless opportunities to grow. I feel more confident, capable, and ready to tackle challenges I never imagined before.

What advice would you give to future participants?

Take full advantage of everything the program offers. Engage actively with the community, ask questions, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes—they are part of the learning journey. Treat every challenge as an opportunity to grow, and stay persistent.

Alpha will push you, but it will also reward you with skills, confidence, and opportunities that will last a lifetime. The effort you put in directly shapes the growth you gain, and the results are absolutely worth it.
